When I saw today’s word I knew immediately where I was going with this. I remember being in my bedroom with the door shut, sitting against the door on the floor so nobody could just walk into the room. I was much younger then and I was crying to Elton John’s song ‘Harmony’. I would play it over and over while the tears just flowed.
From the album ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’, it was released in 1974 on the B side of ‘Bennie and the Jets’. That was the 45 rpm that I had and played so much.
I still have my record boxes holding all of my old records, though never playing them anymore. I wonder if I listened to it today if I would start blubbering.
It seems like I am always saving patterns. Between Pinterest, the blogs featuring needlepoint, quilting, purses, and more, there is no end to all the inspiration you find on the web.
I honestly get excited to see a new pattern that I am sure that I will actually make someday. Of course, someday usually never gets here for me. But, I still visit these patterns and dream that I will do what I imagine I will.
But, with all the beautiful things I can make, nothing comes close to the beyond campare of nature’s patterns. What could possibly compare with this? So, you see what type of pattern is my favorite!
My husband is known for how he disciplines kids. The kids do not get time-outs, quiet time, toys taken away, extra chores or any of the usual ways some parents use. He gives out “Squat” punishments.
At first I was a little concerned with this, not sure if it was a healthy way to treat misbehaviors.

How To Do Squat Jumps
This exercise is an advanced dynamic power move that should be done only after a complete warm up.
For the older kids and adults:
Stand with feet shoulder width and knees slightly bend.
Bend your knees and descend to a full squat position.
At the bottom of the squat, powerfully explode straight up bringing your knees toward your chest while in midair. At the top of the jump your thighs should touch your torso.
Release your legs, control your landing by going through your foot (toes, ball, arches, heel) and descend into the squat again for another explosive jump.
Upon landing immediately repeat the next jump.
For the little kids:
You do them, and kids can do them too: Bend those knees (but not too far) for squats and lunges! These simple exercises build leg strength to give kids a good foundation for all kinds of sports and fitness activities. Try forward, backward, and side lunges as well as classic squats. You can also incorporate jumps into a squat sequence by having kids hop after they stand up in between squats.
So as you can see, Is this a punishment or what? I call it a constructive way to discipline.
With so many people making lists of New Years Resolutions to make their lives better, easier, healthier, etc; I want to tell you mine. My list has the usual items on it but because today’s prompt is “interior” this is exactly what I need to focus on. My interior.
Work on my attitude, patience, tolerance, and all of the habits that would not please God.
Spend more time in the Bible knowing The Word so I can align my interior with what God wants.

I was reading an article by Dr. Mercola dated January 2014 and found information that everyone should know about and act on.
There’s absolutely no doubt that kids need exercise, and that most kids aren’t getting enough. Less than one-third of kids aged 6 to 17 get at least 20 minutes of daily exercise in one form or another. This is tragic, considering the multitude of short- and long-term health benefits your child can gain from a regular exercise regimen.
Studies show that active children have better focus and memory retention. Regular exercise can also help with mental health and clarity by increasing dopamine production. Not only that, but it’s also thought to improve blood flow to your brain, which may explain why it’s so great for learning and neural health overall.
No question about it: Physical activity is a great habit to establish early. Unfortunately, once winter rolls around, keeping your kids active requires a whole new bag of tricks.
Jungle gyms and monkey bars aren’t just for the open air anymore. Indoor gyms are popping up everywhere, and many of them offer affordable monthly memberships. A quick Google search tied to your city will point you in the right direction.
Don’t forget how much fun it is to build a snowman or a fort. Have a snowball fight or simply make snow angels. And don’t forget to have fun!
My definition of what is urgent may be very different from other people’s definition. I think it has a lot to do with our personality. What is urgent to us may not be urgent to others.
A baby’s cry can be saying that something is wrong and sometimes it is just a way of trying to get held. When kids are playing outside and everyone is screaming, a parent just knows which scream is playing and which scream needs your immediate attention. To a teenager, most things are urgent. They need an answer to their question now. “Can I go to the party Friday night?” They need to know now so they can phone or text all their friends. It simply doesn’t work to give them the answer the day before, it’s more fun to discuss all the plans versus the actual party.
My sense or urgency was the other evening when our first frost of the year was due and I still had my special Scheffalara plant outdoors. I got the plant inside and thankfully I did because we did have a frost that night. I’ve had that plant since 1981. Now that was something urgent!
